If it was the stock trans- was probably due to break- mine did after doing speed runs down the street .

I missed my chance to go mudding earlier this year - ah well, maybe once my murrays done can find somewhere to go.

Awesome pics!

Wow 12 trannys, it's funny that i've try'd so hard to break my posi tranny thats now in my street murry and never could break it.
I've never broke any tranny, i've broke the wooddrift keys before but never any internals.

Wow looks like you guys had fun lol. As for trannys, I used to go thru them like they were disposable, until I finally realized well maintained oil level (80W90) is a must. I used to strip the teeth off the input gears all the time, but now I never have that problem anymore, I am running trannys that have been working perfect for 3-4 years. Also when you're mudding that hardcore, there's a good chance you're taking in water / silt into the case. Good idea to tear them down regularly and check / clean.

The funny bit about the agway is the one axle seal is worn out, i ran that thru water n mud up to the foot rests for years , when i did the inital pulley change i realized there actually was no oil in the trans when i went to change it- i think its been that way since i bot it from my buddy way back in the 90's. I put oil in it- ill see if itll stay in there- i still have to change that seal sometime when i eventually finish it.

Only trans i ever wrecked was in the craftsman LT12- had that thing up to 20 plus mph and eventually locked it up and broke teeth off the pinons. That was a 'failure to take it apart n regrease it' issue .

id say either go with a 1 1/4" straight axle or heavy duty trans from a Cub cadet - shaft drive. Go extreme and use a rear axle from a toyota truck ( shortened) .
