hey guys, this is ,y 87' trx 250x. she is still a work in progress. right now, i have done a full carb rebuild, replaced the axle bearing carrier, the front tires with duro thrashers, rear brakes, and un froze all the calipers. there was a mouse nest in the airbox, so i cleaned that out, and stuffed a new UNI air filter in her. i am having carb problems right now, when i go around a corner, it dies out. if i mash the throttle, it falls flat on its face. i need to clean it again. and probably adjust it. i need to tighten the chain, which means new tools (yay!) let me know what yall think. top end rebuild, clutch and new chain coming soon. thanks guys

Thats going to be as much fun as my 350 Warrior. Its got all new suspension bushings, I cleaned and rebuilt the carb, and it still needs a battery.

Traded a 76 XT500 that I paid 100 for, and a beat Yamaha XS1100 Dresser with 2 bad holes that I picked up for 400, with about 100 in parts.

As long as the length is close, it should work, may take some mods, It will be a fair bit stiffer, i would think since the 650 is a heavier quad.

the length is almost exact, it is a gas shock so it will be a fair bit stiffer, which i wouldnt mind. the 660 is a lot heavier. for now though, im ok with a blown shock. gotta build some funds. i'll probably fix it when i do the clutch

well i know this thread is "dead" and that its kinda bad to "revive it", BUT, its for a good reason. last night i was out for a rip snot in the snow. hit the rev limiter a few times, and its almost constantly smoking now. i noticed some oil running down the block, so i presume the head gasket is pret'near blown. also, i was giving it a once over after the ride and noticed a few other things. chain is really loose, front shocks are seeping, missing a bolt in the left front brake caliper, left front disc is worn, almost no brake pads due to it draging constantly, rear caliper needs pads, a caliper rebuild and most likely a disc. it gets better- i picked up on the rear end just to see really how bad the shock is. (been blown out for a year now) the WHOLE swing arm moves. the bushings are worn in the front, and the whole axle has about an inch to an inch and a half of play back and fourth. guess ive gota do bearings and a new lock collar on it... i'll probably end up doing a top end rebuild, piston, rings, valve guides/seals. ive got a TON of work to do on it.. oh, timing chain to.. thats making alot of noise. this thing is gonna go under the knife after i finish the bolens, hopefully i can get a job and pay for everything
