off road mower

I just started a build on a poulan riding mower it has a 15hp briggs ohv engine that runs awesome and a peerless 5 speed transaxle runs down the trail but its slow.

Well pulley swap fixes that problemo

I would love to sometime but don't have the stuff yet.

I do have to say it is a cheap build for now until stuff breaks.

I have a friend that is giving me the front suspension off of a two wheel drive four wheeler to go under it then I want to make shock mounts for the transaxle.

THe shocks on the front will be a nice upgrade but for the rear won't work. Your gonna run in to problems with the belt and shifter.

The only way you could really get it to work right would be using a peerless 700 or horizontal shaft motor. You could make a swing arm in the rear with a go kart axle and chain drive. And you would probilly need a good spring loaded tensioner on it to. It would work like that but if your looking for a cheap easy thing to do this isn't for you.

I under stand now the front would be just be badass I think

Lol what happened to simple and cheap? I'm messin with ya. A 4wd conversation wouldn't be that hard if you know how to build stuff but the hard parts gonna be finding a AWS lawn mower

I know where their is a junk 4x4 straight axle 4wheeler at to use for the swap

I want to use every thing off of the 4 wheeler frame and go to war from there

just got a set of 4 wheeler tires for it

those were my plans on the dot... haha. hope it works. i have yet to start my mower/4 wheeler crossbred demon yet

it's going to be a slow build

i havnt even started mine. just pricing parts. lol

If you pull it off without tossing your belt all over the place, you will be elevated to near-genius status...

use rubber grommets inbetween the transaxle and frame about 1" to help abssorb some shock and dropping tire pressure down should help. you would need to strengthen the frame and build a support brace to take the stress off the transaxle as it would be allowed to twist in whatever way ti wanted also

thought of using motorcycle shocks then make it badass
