I don't know if any of you watched the video of my mini bike or not, but if so you know what it looks like.
I added on to it again today, i cut the forks off and welding the forks off a 26" bicycle along with the wheel and welded them on.

It's fricken crazy, i would like to get a 20" bike wheel and tire cause the 26" is just a bit to much.

Update!

I bought a 12" 3/4" shaft to make a jack shaft today on the computer.

I'm running #41 to the jack shaft off the clutch and then from there it will all
be bicycle chain and sproket going back to the wheel.

I did a calculation on a go kart website and it should go around 70mph top speed. Shocked

But i'll gear it down even lower.

Update!
I got the shaft today!
My jack shaft is all made, it's got pillow block bearings.

All i need to get her going is two sprockets and some bicycle chain.

I think i forgot to mention, the bicycle shifter will be hooked up so it will have five gears.
The engine is a modified honda gx-160.

I like that jack-shaft idea alot!! I just hope you have enough drive reduction for that motor to go! We had trouble on our bikes with reduction... Can't wait to see how your test-drive goes!!

I took her for her first ride today!
It's like nothing i ever drove before.

I do have to gear it down though, it hardly takes off at all.

I rode my bike once years ago over 40mph - and w/o a motor...... i was going down a super steep hill going to a park at the bottom. At first it wasnt going fast at all, then it took off like a shot - i slammed both brakes on and nearly burnt them off - put both my feet down to try n slow down ( theres a crossroad at the bottom of that hill) - i barely managed to get it stopped.

Needless to say id rather go fast on 4 wheels instead of two.

Cool build - looks like it should move pretty good. Id say go 1:1 ( clutch to jackshaft) - the other gears should be okay.

I thought a 1:1 could make it higher ratio?

well, the motor is using a 2" sprocket, then its going to a larger set of sprockets ( jackshaft) , then back to a small sprocket - its basically an even ratio- to get speed, the motor needs to have a larger spocket, then smaller tward the back . Id try a 2" and 2" then the larger other side sprocket to the stock bike rear gears.

No it was from a old yerfdog go kart.
I know why you said that though, my old huffy mower had a sprocket that was identical to it, it's a 60tooth #41.
