Peerless 920's are all around trannys, it treated properly (like most trannys). I would rip it apart and count the teeth to make sure it's good. Then re-grease it and chuck it in!

yesterday i was emptiying my shed and moving all the wood that was in it to be able to use the shed but i dicovered something that ruined the day... after a few minutes of diggin into the piles of wood i saw horseflys coming out of a crack on the floor it turned out that theres was a few hundred of them... they made a nest in the wood.

soooooo... i got the transaxle appart... its a mess. there is water in the bottom its a rusty mess some of the seals are broken and the input shaft gear is stripped. oh also the grease is more like a putty id doesnt fell like grease at all. heres some pics so i filled it up with motor oil to protect the parts from rusting and i sat it on a shelf for now, im trying to get another peerless 920 so this way a would have all the spare parts. so yeah this is my second busted transaxle in two years... i called the guy that sold me the transaxle and he neglected to tell me that this transaxle sat underwater during a flooding for 2 months, this is probably why there is some water inside.

heres some pictures... i got the tractor for 90$ without an engine it has a peerless 633 it looks like it has some king of 3point hitch at some point the truf savers haha im gonna have alot more choice of what i can put on this transaxle now tommorow im going to finish tearing down the jacobsen and start working on the ROPER i need to fix the steering and find a way to mount the engine. the ROPER has a twisted belt setup because it uses a vertical engine and it has a horizontal input transaxle so ill have to se how it works

Lookin good. Does your engine have the steel access cover on the opposite side from the intake/exhaust or do you have an aluminum finned one? My 14hp opposed had a steel cover. Not sure if all the smaller ones did or just because mine was an older one.
