| Sure! Except you're on the All-Terrain LAWN TRACTOR Forum... So, gotta keep that element in there SOMEWHERE! In all actuality, the build rules may be a little bit more open than some people might think. I invite you to go review them again, paying close attention to the wording.Here- I'll give ya the link- https://www.atltf.com/t3076-atltf-2014-build-off-competition-get-ready-read-first-entry-info-rulesFeel free to ask for clarification on anything! Let me bring in an example of what's what, and why. Y'all know Chris Coe? Seen him on Facebook with that badass Duece's Wild build? Awesome machine, no doubt about it. But if a build like that would qualify, where would all the other competitors be? Think about it! Lately, he mentioned that he had something nuts like 20 grand into the engine alone! How, I ask you, can ANY average DIY-er compete with that. Cannot be done! It's a built friggin aircraft engine! So- not to be a dick or anything, I'm just simply NOt going to allow that, because with a competitor like that, there is no competition. Not at all fair to the poor kid in his garage with $100 and a grinder... | |

| ok, so lemme ask y'all this: It's the middle of November. What about a February 1st 2015 start date? That's 2.5 months. Enough prep time? It really SHOULD be plenty of prep time, if you're given like 9 months to build! How about a Hallowe'en end date (Oct 31, 2015)? That gives 9 months of build time? Grand total just sort of a year.
Whaddya say? Feb 1st 2015-Oct 31st 2015?

| I would say that is good... I liked the 14' dates... But I understand that people are busy the day before... I'd say that are good but also I'm not gonna be able to build another project... Cause I'm building one right now and slightly out of space... Unless can convince parents to let me get another tractor... | |

| i think feb 1st 2015-feb 28th 2015....loool jk that would give everyone enough time to get parts out from letting others know from now till then to get a junker, pull it home get it ready and start building up idea's and everything collecting parts tires wheels ect that would be a really good time frame considering there will be more warm time there then cold take the rest of feb and march to build even more parts up and for the ones that get it built before the end date they can take it out, find the flaws and make it even better and stronger!! id like to see a 5 buck admission for the contest for the prizes all money goes to the prizes for the winner rather it be a winch or some tires you know something in that nature....just suggestions which what we all need to do atm is get some ideas up and going and through some suggestions in here!!! |

| Some good thoughts in there, thanks! Keep them coming!
As for the $5 (or whatever) entry fee? I see your point, and it's a good point. Not sure how feasible it really is. Tangible prizes cam be problematic too, and I'll tell you why. ATLTF is a global community. Not only do we have members in England, we have one in NORWAY! While this is really cool, it's a shipping nightmare! (Trust me, I just shipped something there LOL).

that is a good idea have a limited edition sticker only available for the build off members, and yea didnt think about that might scare a few away from the build off trying to charge a admission fee |

| So for the next build off, I was thinking of making a sort of replica of a steel wheeled tractor only lawn tractor sized. Possibly powered by a maytag engine. Any idea if that will fit into the rules? And...anybody weld up any trophies yet? I might be willing to make something up if there's any interest in that. | |

I thought about welding up a plaque that said: contestant, 2nd place etc. I might work something out for the upcoming build off.

I think the problem there, might be the engine. I know they type you're talking about. not sure if it falls under the heading of OPE engine. Could probably grant you a pass on that one, because it's in the right spirit.

| Glad to see everyone brain storming ideas for this next build off, this is great and exactly what the forum needs I know some forget or work alot or even school but we can't let this forum become a thing in the past but it will take off again eventually and I think the last build off drawer alotta new people in from that, but yea admins are here to help check on behavior keep some of us in line to remind us hey don't cross that line lol but yea I'm rambling now but yes they paid out of there pockets for prizes but I never did see none of the winners post there prizes tho which I'm shocked unless I didn't see it but I woulda been blasting that stuff every where lol |

Didn't receive yet. If it gets in before the next build off starts, then it's "legal". I think that's the rules...
