I assume if there’s no difference in displacement, it’s the size of the carb bore. The 16 horse carb would have snappier throttle response, but the 18 horse carb would have more top end power

The difference between the HP's I have read was the stroke not the bore.

I'm pretty sure there is a displacement difference actually. I believe the 18hp opposed is a 42 cubic inch model, where as the 16hp is on a 40 cubic inch. Like mighty said though I'm pretty sure the displacement difference came from the stroke. Also how did you get those little knicks in the rod bearing? Haha.
