There should be some numbers on the side of the transmission. They're pretty beefy Smile

Yeah, should last you a while. Do you know what those tyres on the rear are called?

Yeah, I've always liked those transaxles because of the high and low range. But, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think they where made by Peerless, I think Roper made them.

The rear tires are Kenda Executioners. I have a set on my Suburban 12 as well.

Yeah high and low is another good advantage. I honestly don't know, I've always seen them referred to as Peerless 633's.

I think they're made by Roper, but I could be wrong. Either way they're pretty cool!

1967 was the last year they were made by David Bradley, anything after that was Roper.

Wow, she's even got the grill piece on the right hand side. Those have usually been taken off to use the PTO. Beautiful Sears!

if it is a 6 speed with 3 high range gears and 3 low range, yes it is a peerless. I can tell its a peerless 633a anyway, its basically the only transmission that has that design. side input ones are rare too. its a pretty effin beefy transmission. Its classified as a transmission too, btw. not a transaxle (you learn something new every day!) Aside from the hydro, wasnt that the common transmission offered in the sears suburbans for a lot of years?

Yeah thanks for clearing that up. And I think it was a 633a too.

I don't know, I could be wrong, but I have a manual for every Peerless trans, gearbox, differential they made, and there's no 633a. But, I could be wrong

A quick google search shows that it was indeed made by Roper but were also sold as a Peerless transmission??
