Forum Restructure (10/19/2016)

As a followup to the new profile option that was recently added, I have gone through our forum options and changed a few things around.

The restructure isnt too serious, although if you are confused as to what is going on, here is a rundown:

-"Suggestions" forum pruned.

-Line option for Announcement/ Sticky posts activated. Announcements and Stickies will now appear separated from topics in the forums.

-Multi-quote activated. You can now quote up to 3 other users posts into one reply.

-All images will now be resized to 800px (pixel) width. This is what SERVIMG sets their images to, so now all images hosted off from SERVIMG should resize automatically.

-Banned members are no longer able to view messages.

-Portal page (www.atltf.com) revamped.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As always with restructure there will be bugs. If you notice problems with anything, please feel free to post it below so it can be addressed quickly.

Cool Doug. I can't get used to the 'Latest topics' section being on the right hand side on the Portal Page.

Noted. I tried rearranging some stuff, the Portal had been neglected for some time. Ill move it back to the upper left.

Thank you! it was confusing me being on the right. it just feels more natural on the left.

I have a bookmark to all latest posts so I typically dont see the Portal. Didnt occur that a lot of you guys probably land there.

one little thing that i doubt affect people as much, when you click on a link to a thread (such as from the portal), when you go back to the portal and the thread that you clicked is a different color. It used to be blue and had a great contrast to the green and was really easy to tell which ones you've viewed and which ones you haven't. now its kind of a mint green, which is harder to see the contrast. if you could change that, that would be great. If not, no big deal

Ill play with it some more. I was trying to get a color closer to the normal link color so it didnt disrupt signatures and the like.

You're doing great work. As a newer member, I can say at first the forum was a bit intimidating, but quickly got accustom to the format and it has gotten better since.

Thanks. Yea forums have a bit of a learning curve, but once you work with it a little it becomes second nature.

Its something that was brought up in Sprockets Garage. It allows people to vote up/down individual posts. Its still a work in progress, which is why I havent posted about it yet, but its still there to play with now.

Kind of. Once you vote, a bar appears there and changes similar to the Youtube like bar. A vote up or down gets added to the users rep and changes it by 1 point in either direction. So if you were to like this post, the bar would be green and I would gain +1 rep. If 4 people liked it and 2 disliked it, I would have +2 rep and the bar would be mostly green.

If that makes sense. Again, I havent fully tested it yet so im still figuring stuff out too. There will be a full writeup once I get it all figured out and explained.

Comparing it to youtube made a lot of sense.  Interesting where you could go with "rep" like if a person has a lot or Positive or Negative rep?

The "Thumbs Up" and down are MUCH better than the +|- that was on the side.

Definitely. Much easier to see and use.

Oh nice, yeah the thumbs up are much better. Site looks a lot more updated over all.
