i might just have to now... after i went for a test ride i realised that i bent the axle. but before i do the supports i have to brace up the frame. so its not going to happen for now.

Lol womp

It's a wonder more people don't bend 3/4" axles, those things look like pencils to me (but I'm used to 1" and 1-1/8" axles lol). How are you planning to straighten it out? A press, lathe, and dial gauge? I had the barrel bend on my Beeman .22 pellet gun and my dad brought it to work and straightened it out with a lathe, hammer, and dial gauge. Shoots as straight as new now.

i know 3/4 axles are fairly thin haha, but to be fair i am sure the stock axle shafts are harder than the shafting i bought at princess auto. the factory shafts like to snap not bend. oh well

as far a straightening the shaft i dont own a press a lathe or dial gauges, or have acces to any. so ill just buy a new axle, bearings, and the hub, ill have to cut the old axle out of the diff carrier tho... but for now i put the wheels closer to the trans to make it easier on it until i get around to strenghtening the frame and make the supports.

Today i rebuilt the front axle with new bushings, in the spindles and in the wheels. the bushings were badly worn out and now the steering fells much better, i also tested the 18hp oppsed twin i got and it runs got if i just pour gas down the carb. ill have to see if it runs good with the carb from the single ohv.

Lovin that rear bumper. On that body style, a second set of rear fenders turned around and bolted to the hood look great as well...

Maybe trim that extra flange off the outside so it isn't any wider then the footrest. I think that would make it look a lot better

I would actually graft them into the hood... it'll strengthen the long sides of the hood and hinge up put of the way when the hood is open... think one piece front end like a tractor trailer has

yeah i would trim the inside of the fender to make it line up with the footboards and bolt it onto the lower part of the hood (the one that is stationary)

kinda like that

Just sayin, you could put that 16hp carb on your 18hp, that's what I did on the 18hp that was on MUTT. I stripped out the jet so I used the 16hp carb I had that I know works. Ran just fine with it. I think they are the same jets anyway

A Peerless 600 eh? Nice! They are pretty beefy, and the differential assembly from your 801 should fit in a 600. So you could keep your locker.

Oh, well that'll never do! Haha, how easy do you thing it would be to mount a 600 in your chassis?

wooohoo got the 18hp pressure lube oppy up and going, hopefully swapping it in this week. i also started to check for tires, i want something cheap but effective and i think i found just that, the Duro HF243s sand and mud tires.. should be pretty decent, in the 21x12-8 size..

Looks like fun! That pressure lube opposed should be quite an upgrade, also those tires look a bit familiar... hahaha.

i did not realise how big the opposed twins are... i just did some measuring and ill have to take the hood ans the grille off, install the oppy, and try to fit the hood back over it.. stilll this engine is going in no mather what !

ill also have to relocate the gas tank, i really dont know where yet but ill see. maybe under the seat..

Yeah thats the only problem with putting an oppy under a hood meant for a single cylinder. You could always turn it 90 degrees like Red did in his MTD and mr.mod did in his GTR.

i dont know, i might have to cut the side skirts for the engine to fit, but itll look even cooler with the engine's side thins visible from the outside lol
if it comes to the worst i can trurn it sideway but then i might have problem with it hitting my steering..

You could turn it 45 degrees from normal!! Hahaha wouldn't that look funny? Yeah I wondered about steering being in the way... Oh well I'm sure you'll get it figured out.

i tested it and i dont regret the swap at all ! i have to swap the front pulley again i want a little more speed and now i dont have to worry about having enough power..

i also noticed a crack in my transaxle.. i patched it with tape and filled it back up for now. i need to buil myself a new trans anyways.

the plumbing pipe exhaust ie very temporary (and ugly) and it will get remplaced with a 2to1 out the back style exhaust when i get some time to work on it again.

- swap in the opposed twin DONE
-wire up the engine, dual diode setup DONE but redoing it with proper connectors
-make up an exhaust, 2 to 1, with mufller
-relocate gas tank DONE but have to figure out how to get more gas onboard, bigger tank where ?
-battery boost system, anderson plug ?
-front bumper W front towhooks
-make the hood fit around the engine..
-headlights, nilights dual flood..
-check tranny, making sone nasty noises (almost cant hear the engine over the whining) maybe build another doc locked 800. ya........ gonna do that soon..
-add a 3rd battery ?
-buy and mount new rear tires
-read mud flaps
-front fenders
-swap an even bigger engine pulley
-belly pan, keep the sticks out of my belt..
