I have a mid 90's noma 14.5 HP 43" deck. I'm not sure what trans it has or what to put in it once or if I weld it posi. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not quite sure why your thread posted three times, but I deleted the other two for ya.

My guess is unless it's a Peerless MST series it's a grease filled transaxle. Best thing is to just open it up and see what's inside.

Find the model of it, if it's a spicer it is grease filled, and if it is peerless model that's not met something it will be grease as well but you can convert them to oil or oil and grease

If you look under the brake rotor you should find the model number of the transaxle. You may have to remove the brake caliper first. If you're still unsure then you could post some pictures of it.

Brake caliper? Umm it's generally on the opposite side or on the bottom of the case on the right axle support fin.

Would it be possible to use a deck pulley on the trans?

Absolutely, you just have to find the right hub to weld it to and make sure it's centered.

Turn it over and see if there are any bolts on the bottom. The 900 series shouldn't have them, but if it's an MST it should. But I'm like 90% sure that's a 900 series, which those are pretty good. Better than most.

Or just look for the ID tag/sticker. There might be a sticker on the back of the trans.

That’s a 900 series. Either a 920 or 930

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Although if it is a 900, I think the tag would be nearer to the breaks.

Haha. Yeah it should, it has a reverse chain which isn't the best, otherwise, there isn't much fault in them.

@Shane87 here's my thread on how I locked my 930-011a 6 speed. It's a pretty good guide for what you'll need to do. My 6 speed hasn't had any issues yet!
