now if you get thew the video, today i finasly got dinky to run agin (guess i still had water to flush out of in take) and i took it for a quick vice grip holding a wheel on spin. well, i did not like how it feels to ride, i feel like im a good 4" up higher and i wold roll this thing if i breathed wrong. so im leaving this up to comunity,

A: old fenders and gas tank and re redo electrical wide dinky
B: new+old fenders dully dinky?

dinky has let me down today, and its not its falt. this is how my moring went:
i was taknig the ford apart to pully swap it, made my mesurments, went to hop on dinky to go to tractor supply, they were still closed for half an hour
so i decieded to go to walmart and get paint
my drive belt shreaded by advanced auto
i ended up pushing dinky and hiding it behind a bush at the movie theator
then walking to tractor supply and get parts for the ford
the help part is i to tow dinky back wold take 2 poeple
one to drive the ford, and one to steer dinky
the alliterative is bring a rope and tape measure and measure up a belt for dinky, drive to tractor supply, go back to dinky, install the belt were its at, drive the ford home, walk to were dinky died, then drive that home.
i havent goten in to to much trouble by 9am.

it all worked out. and im temporraryly putting the carb from my 16hp cast iron on the 12hp cast iron, figured if it cut the muffler off it should about even the jetting out. but ym 16hp carb is quite diffren then the 12hp. so i only can use 1 bolt to hold it on and the governor is not going to be able to link up. so i think i putting a thumb throttle on my shiftier. i just want something to get me ruining half decent until my carb rebuild comes in the mail.

i tryed creating a new face book account and this sh-t is confusing as hell, and it wants my real name instead of an account name. i just made the last name youdontneedthat because i think thats alittle to personal for random poeple to just see.

so while i have been busy and un able to work on tractors i have been brainstorming and i think i know what im going to do with dinky, im keeping it non dually and im also keeping the current fenders, what im going to do is lower the rear end an inch or two to put me sitting about the same height again. this well cause a less than desired tilt but i guess i cold put a spacer on my seat to sit level again.

so right now, lower rear end=free
starter=60$ put but a new housing on it
snorkle, probably 20-30$ in pvc pipe
new axle 50$
new hub 15$
new bearings 15$ (i think)
might be able to pull all of that off in 1 pay check. i just know summer is now slowly leaving and i need to get my ass moving on dinky.

I recomend buying one or two parts a week just to ease the financial burden.  These tractors are fun year round.

help, i cant seem to find a way to confirm this, do any of these starter housings fit in the newer "smaller" opposing twin starters. if i cant get a definite answer then im going to be on a hunt to get my starter professional rebuilt, witch i do not want to do. (only problem is cracks in the farrite magnets. it works, just consumes alot of current to start)

The second and third one look right for sure, but it's kinda hard to say.

my motor is "42A707-1251-01" if some one knows a quick way to find out what housing numbers are compatible.

I just looked it up for you.  Looks like you need to measure your housing length and then you can match that up with the right part number.

sometime it's better to be safe that sorry.  Maybe the shop where he took it is reasonable.

dinkys hood is getting about done, i did some more welding on it, its fixed back up, slightly braced were it failed.

took my angle grinder's wire wheel and striped the hood free of paint and rust.

then i added 2 coats of rustoilim rusty metal paint primer then 3 white coats.
the bugs seem to like the paint, every time i went to add a coat i wold have to pick spiders, gnats, and spider webs off of it. messing up the paint. one i messed up bad in the back, tryed to wipe it smoth with my finger, made a bigger mess, tried to smoth it out with a cotton napkin, made a huge mess, tried to add more paint, looked horrible, took my angle grinder and blasted all the mess up off, giving the rest of the hood a sandy texture. and tried painting agin.

agin trying to paint more than i can get done in 1 day. when it gets to the point were i got the final tape off done, paint simi dry, i go out for chilly dogs and ice cream, come back to it raning. my paper that was covering the red started fusing to the paint. i piked up the hood and broght it in side after picking all the paper off.

next weekend im going to use a wier wheel on my dremmel to blast the paint off in the bad areas and re paint the patches and i think it will look good, once it looks good im putting clear coat on. then i deal with the front pice (witch i think im painting all mat black)

Looks great!  It's a mud mower, it doesn't have to be a perfect paint job.
