[FINALIST] - Father Daughter project 2019 Build Off [2019 Build-Off Entry]

Since we were planning on lifting it anyways, figured we might as well put it in the build off. It is a 2003 or 2005 JD LT150. Hope to do 8 inches of lift and put on some small truck tires.

Sounds like a good plan, can't wait to see what come of it. Don't see a lot of this style John Deeres built.

I now know why you don't see a lot of these not that I started on it, they don't make it easy but pretty sure we have figured out how we are doing the front lift, back should be pretty easy. It is not a hydro unit, so no worry there. Picked up the wheels today with 26" tires. After I get the hubs in and check backspacing I will get the front done.

I have been a long time follower here and a few years ago I was going to do this competition, I had another tractor and a parted out 4 wheeler I was going to graft the front and rear suspension on but SOMEONE else had other ideas so I never could make it happen. This time I got my daughter excited about this build so hopefully we can get it done before school starts back up in August.

Have fun... that is the main thing. Sure going to be a cool project.

Not much to update on, still waiting for parts to arrive. I have the time and the (26") and the front hubs and spindles. Waiting on the rear hubs anda jig to change the bolt pattern of the rims. The guy said they were 4x100 lug pattern but it wasn't until I got home when I found out they were 4x156. Already got the front lift figured out, kind of excited to see how it will turn out. I will update more when I get the wheel of progress rolling...

FINALLY I picked up some tires yesterday so I was able to order the rims. Hopefully this weekend we can start with the lift. Need to get this project moving...

Nice man.  Always love getting new tires for the rig.  Your thread has got me inspired to get back to my Father/Daughter tractor.

Finally got the wheels in so we worked on mounting the tires this morning so here they are! It looks like we are going to do about 8 inches in the back and 6 in the front which should give the front tires enough clearance...

That should look pretty sharp ! looking forward to seeing this thing come to full fruition !

Finally getting some time to work on the tractor. Front axle is off and ready to get some fabrication on them. Dropping the spindle down 6 inches and welding new hubs on. Rear hubs were easy to prefit which is awesome. Should have the front done this week then on to the back. Maybe now that it is on the trailer and temporarily immobile, I should start forming the skeleton for the good and get it shaped out...

Hurricane Dorian put me back a couple of weeks- I hope to get working on it again in about a week or so. She was one slow moving hurricane, sad about all the devistation it caused in the Bahamas. We got pretty lucky in Florida.

Talk about coming down to the wire.... It is standing in it's own 4 wheels! Mocked up the rear end tonight, figured out all the good stuff like the shifter linkage, brake linkage and the drive pulley adapter. More pics to come when we get all the fabrication squared away.

Framed out my hood and I wanted a hinge so I added that to, still need to make the grille and add my front lights but till then, here it is:
