Hi, I know this isn't a lawn tractor, but still something I'm working on, if you don't want it in this section feel free to move it or I will.

I picked this kart up a few weeks ago for $20, the engine has a whole in the side of it but everything else is there and in usable condition. I figured if I couldn't get it working I would sell the parts off it and get 5 times my money back.

I came across this motor, the guy said he bought it for his tractor about 20 years ago and didn't get it put in. It had been sitting on his workbench for the entire time he owned it. I believe he didn't use it, it is a rope start and the pulleys still have shiny paint on them, no scratches or wear. I paid $40 for this engine, its a 1993 Tecumseh 7 HP. Should work quite well.

Then I tried to start the engine, I wasn't getting any fuel into the cylinder so I guessed the carb needed cleaned. I doubt he drained the fuel and it evaporated in the carb. When I took the carb off I found this crap, looks like something fell on the air cleaner and snapped one of the ears off the carb, this is the side that bolts to the engine. The previous owner then made a new bracket and attempted to put it back together using a hose clamp, didnt see it in the garage, Mad.

So I decided I had nothing else to lose and got my JB weld out. I coated the original flange with weld and bolted the new bracket on. I then went around and filled in all the gaps with JB weld. I don't know if it will work or not but like I said, I had nothing to lose. If it works great if not I will look for another carb.

I have no reason to think it wont work, I will make sure I make a sturdy bracket to hold the air cleaner on so it relieves the stress on the repair. JB weld is some good stuff so we will see. I will let it cure for a few days then put it back on the engine and see if it runs.

Ive never used JB weld, Ive heard great things about QuikSteel too. But that should hold up just fine, it'll proably be stronger than the original tbh! And I dont have a problem with it being under this section, as long as this sections doesnt get totally swamped with off topic builds. Im happy for it to stay here!

Those tires are the same as what is on my ATV axle, I think 22X9X8 or something like that.

I like JB weld- used it to repair lawntractor decks - its easy to put on, then can mold it later and even sand it . Had a couple lawntractor decks with small rust holes that wouldve been too hard to weld easy , so cleaned the metal, put gorrilla tape behind it and slapped it on in layers to fill the hole.
