I have been trying to find a forum like this for awhile ,I don`t mean no harm, but the ones for lawnmower racers and such are pretty much snobs about it. Rolling Eyes
I have a couple of mid `80s RERs SNAPPERS and am going to make something to use around the ranchette,LOL!.This is it stretched 12 "s by adding the front 12"s off the bad frame.I braced it with 1/8 thick angle.I will be changing the front end and adding a cargo deck over the engine and raising the seat.Don`t laugh too much at my welds . it has been many years since I struck an arc. lol!

That looks cool, you gonna put some bigger tires on it? Make the cargo deck a dump bed, you can do some work with it then. rabbit

Cant wait to see this come around.

welcome to the forum!!! i agree, most other sites are a bunch of stuck up people

i had a snapper just like that, but last year i scrapped it (along with 3 other tractors, due to the fact of getting a truck and it needing alot of work)

Yes. I just have to figure out the best way to latch the dump bed so that I can realease it from the seat.I have already bought the new tires ,Sno-Hog sno blower tires.I really liked the tread pattern they had.I am still getting parts together for the front end.It needs to be raised for clearance of bigger tires , yet be strong enough to support a front mount mower.

Damn right it's gonna be cool. Ive always wanted to build something like this, but it the engine low to the ground, so I could have a really low bed on it. A RER would be easiest, maximum load length, but a tractor hood would look cooler on the front, but would mean less bed length. I'll have a play on photoshop or sketchup or something, see what I can come up with.

My junkyard UTV Jhgj10

This is what I just knocked up of SketchUp. I moved the front axle back, so you;d get a tight steering radius. Although If I did this, I'd probably find something with smaller back wheels, so its lower to the ground.

Needs a tandem axle setup to balance that rear overhang, otherwise looks like a keeper to me! cheers

Thats awsome! Be a nice rescue vehicle/tow vehicle - mount a winch behind the seat and tilt bed to haul em up there. If it were a 4x4- could go anywhere as well.

I dont even think you would need the extra wheels. With all the weight of the engine and stuff up front, plus you, plus the extra length of the front over the rear, it wouldnt wheelie anyway probably. Definatly on the to do list. Just need a nice heavy duty rear end!

It still might need some more weight up front - doesnt hurt to be sure- specially if a tractor was on the back .
