| i have been thinking about this alot recently as because i have not got another mower and the prospect of getting one very little chance, well i thought about making a go kart simply cause i want to go FAST and have fun! i thought about this for a while and just swaping the engine from my mower in to it and making a wooden cart. heres a little thing i found on the net about this... http://www.kartbuilding.net/Lawnmower_Powered_Wooden_Go-Kart_Plans/JPG-Plans-Metric/Drawing-17_Engine-Mounting-2.jpgand then came the awesome plans from dons diy den and changed this completely by showing this awesome buggy! http://www.diyden.net/html/plans.html(its the dirt devil) well what do you guys think should i make a wooden go kart or buy them plans and build a metal one at my uncles, steel isnt very expensive to me as i can get local scarps from the shipyard and the only problem with the kart would be i would have to buy an engine and also make it at my uncles as i dont have a welder yet.... (check the topic called "i really need a welder") what do you think?! |

| I think the plans would be a better bet. Wood wouldnt be as good I dont think. I like that DIY ATV on that plan site too! Its awesome. Where you looking at the Dirt Devil plans? I think building something with suspenion and a bit of ground clearance would make it much more enjoyable, means you're not just limited to flat ground! | |

| Go with steel- first bit of hot dogging with the wood one and youll wind up sitting on the ground with just the steering wheel in your hands...... | |
