PostSubject: How do I lift a Craftsman?   How do I lift a Craftsman? Icon_minitimeFebruary 18th 2013, 6:58 pm

I just got a rough estimate on the year 2003 craftsmen with a 19 horse vtwin for free, so I want to make it into a cool little mud toy. The motor is not seized up but I have to start it by running the hot jumper cable to the starter. It won't stay running so I pulled the carb off and in the process of cleaning it.

Any ideas on how to lift it? What brackets would need to be relocated and what do I do with the shifter?

Got any pics? Chances are, someone has already lifted one like yours. Its not too hard really, having a welder helps.

Be sure to get some pics of where your transaxle mounts up too.

Hi, Welcome to ATFTF. It sounds like you have a nice mower there. If the engine starts when jumping it but not from the key, you most likely have a bad connection or a dead solenoid. FearlessFront does a great video of how to rewire your tractor, you can get an idea from that if you are unsure.

If your engine won't stay running it likely to be dirty fuel line, filter or carb. They like getting clogged up.
