To solve your problem. Depends on how big you are going. Sometimes, you can cut the back of the wheel
where your shaft slide into it. Or some like to take a large hardened bolt, and cut the head off. then they weld the bolt to the end of spindles. Then put on your wheel
, apply a nut. then take anther nut and tighten them against each other to keep them from backing out. Washers are recommended.
In the case of redline's merica mower. I believe he just cut them down. You can also take the original front rim and weld the original inner wheel
(where it slides onto the shaft) and weld it to new rim.
