| Hey guys I stared the rear suspension today. This ist done yet almost their tho. Frist I made swing arms. " /> Then put them together and boxed them in. " /> Then added in coil buckets and welded them in. " /> Then I mocked the swing arm up to the frame just to see if it will work..it did. " /> Then did another mock up with the springs to see if it would flex ..and to make sure every would hold up..and it did..this pic might of been befour I bolted it all up. [img] [/img] | |

| Hey guys, I got the suspension done I just need to mount the jack shaft to the frame. Got the transaxle mounted. but not bolted up. [img] [/img] Then I made custom mount to bolt the transaxle up to the swing arm. [img] [/img] Then started to work on the jack shaft..this is the botton part. [img] [/img] This the top part of the jack shaft..the top part will be a fixed setup monted to the frame so it keep the pully lined up. [img] [/img] The two parts put together.. the bottom part will move up and down the top part when the suspension moves around. [img] [/img] Then I made coil spring buckets for the top of the springs. [img] [/img] | |

| Well basically its a swing arm setup kinda like an atv but with the transaxle mounted under it, at the end of the swing arm in the coners the are coil springs for the suspension and how the suspension works is by a 2 piece jack shaft, the top part of the jack shaft is fixed setup so the pully and belt work correctly the bottom part of the jack shaft is a peaice of 1x1 square tube welded to the factory pully and it slides over the square tube on the top jack shaft so when the suspension is in movmeant the bottom jack shaft just slides up and down the top jack shaft and like I said the top jack shaft is a fixed setup so it dont move up or down becaues its mounted to the frame and the bottom jack shaft just slides up and down the piece of tube on the top jack shaft winch allows the tractor to flex with out having to worry about the belt poping off the pully..And by using square tube it allows it to flex but is still able to be going forward or backwards.

| Well guys finely was able to get the the jack shaft done and mounted and it works great I have no problems it goes up and down just fine and still is able to turn..but it need to have some grease zerks so I can grease it so I can keep the friction down during suspension movement.
Ill get pics soon. | |

| So, if I'm understanding correctly you made a slip yoke for the input shaft in the tranny. Good so far. My question is, what keeps it from binding or breaking the input when the axle flexes (one wheel up, one wheel down) or is your swing arm ridged to keep both wheels in the same plane (one wheel on something, the other wheel in the air)
If this becomes a problem, adding a swivel from a 1/2 extension (basically a U joint) at the connection between the input shaft and the jack shaft tube should fix it. Belt keepers on the pulleys are gonna be a must as well I can do anything I set my mind to... the impossible just takes me a little longer Tech Manual mod, If ya need it, and cant find it... Just ask.... Pm if I'm not on line | |

| Yup..and its built for just going up and down just like and atv rear suspension it wont go side to side. I would need to modify to swing arm and add a universal in if i want it to go side to side but its setup for just going up and down for now..and the im putting in limiting straps so when one side flex it do twist thing it will just pick the other wheel of the ground..it probably is strong enough to go with out the straps but im not taking chances..and i need to straps so the coils don't pop out. And yeah ill do that if i run into problems. | |
