FOUND IT!!! Here's a pic of the "Sierra Mist" soda can I installed on my son's KX60. I filled it with steel wool and hose-clamped it to the stock "silencer". The I drilled a few 1/4" holes around the rear edge. It cut the noise in half and didn't noticeable effect the performance of the bike.

What size hole do y'all think I need and how many holes?
Start with 4 (four) 1/4" diameter holes and adjust as needed. Just get out to the garage and experiment. You'll find something that works.  Cool

Finished! There is little noise coming from the exhaust. Filled it with insulation. It is packed pretty good. And to keep the insulation from feeding out I used screen wire. exhaust - How do I silence a stock exhaust - Page 2 Image13
