still looking it over, finding things i didnt know about, and things that dont work. found a set of cupholders in the rear seat  cheers , the 2nd 12 volt outlet is not working, probably due to corrosion, so i'll just replace that, found some more rust holes........... begind the A-pillar, they covered it up with black duct tape, so you dont see it unless youre REALLY looking for it. also in the bed of the truck, there is a small hole behind each fender well. not a big deal though. I also dug through the toolbox that came with it. ive got 2 sets of tire chains, almost brandy new. also came with the bungee cords for the chains. i found a box of 3 pop-up safety triangles, and a red flag (already claimed by redlinemotorsportts). there is also a few blocks of wood, and a few bottles of misc fluids.

overall im really happy with it. OH, i got all the presets set and figured out how my radio works.. thats the 2nd most important thing, is the radio.. lol

most of the time on those 8.0L V-10's are thirsty because its the Dodge viper motor, if they are straight piped they will get 18-20mpg tops.

my buddies father has one, a dually, and they tow a camper to maine every year. it has a 4.10 or 4.56 rear end, turning about 2000-2500 RPM at crusing speed, and they drop down to 2nd gaear and about 3500 pulling the steep hills. at 2500 RPM, about 70 MPH, they get like 8 mpg... LOL

yea only way a v10 is getting 18 mpg is if its idling while its being towed down the road lol  Very Happy
also I second the getting rid of the plow, tranny killer in a truck that are know for weak trannys. The transmissions
are actually very stout, but they have terrible line pressure from the factory, which causes the bands to slip under load and prematurely wear out. a Good quality shift kit will raise the line pressure and prevent the slippage, and therefor the failure. If your dead set on keeping the plow, you really should look into a shift kit and a big aftermarket tranny cooler, preferably a plate style. Tranny temp gauge is also a solid investment. Kudos on the truck, always had a soft spot for those style dodges  Cool

you read my mind on the tranny temp gauge. i was already pricing them out tonight. idk if you saw it, but it IS a rebuilt tranny too. my dad had a 99' ram 1500, almost identical to this one, and we plowed with it for years, problem free, so im not too worried

did the u-joints today, aaaaaand we have bigger issues. we still have clunking in the drivetrain. we lifted up the ass end, and put it in gear, and i can feel it and hear it in the rear axle. I took off the diff cover and the oil that came out was gray with metal shavings. took the cover all the way off, and observed several teeth setting in the bottom of the case..... so far, ive found 2 missing off the ring gear, several off the spiders and the pinion is pretty chewed up.

ontop of all this, i spend from 11:00 AM until about 4:30PM dicking with my dads truck. we did the right front unit bearing, u-joint and left rear brake caliper. i tell you what... most unplesant experience ive ever had with a ujoint.
