Is $75 a good deal for a good running 18hp Briggs opposed? Could I use the same sullonied off my tractor w/ a 12hp Briggs flat? Or would I have to get a new sullinoied?

the starter solenoid should be the same, nothing special. I would say that is a pretty good deal.

A sillinoid? lol SOL-E-NOID's are pretty cheap, and you can use your other one and 75$ is dirt cheap for an oppy if it's in good order ofcourse.

If you have the 3 bolt carb/ pump you can tune the carb. On the newer ones you can't really do much.
If you want fuel economy go OHV V-twin, but an oppy is pure nostalgy.

I have two 42Ci-18hp oppys and they don't use much fuel.
my 16HP vanguard uses more fuel suprisingly.
