I'm making a speed mower.anyway I was wondering if I could replace the current 11hp with a 23hp twin and not kill the trans. It has a peerless but I don't know where to find the model number if anyone knows where that's found. please tell me Thanks- lawn chief life

The thing that will grenade your transaxle is the speed going into it. You could have a 50+ hp motor turning 3600 RPMs with a stock pulley swap and not grenade your tranny. On the other hand you could have like a little ungoverned 3hp briggs pulley swapped to do 40 MPH and grenade it.
I don't see how it would affect anything swapping in a bigger motor. All you gotta do is get your wiring changed (if needed).

I agree with the other. When it comes to tractors the part that really affects the stress on the transaxle is the belt speed. Hp won't hurt the axle as long as it's not being pushed too hard. The only thing the bigger motor will give you is more torque and that's always awesome
