New to the forum and pretty new to modding riders. 90% of my mowing has been done on a snapper commercial walk behind so I'm going to have a few questions for anyone willing to help

I was a little vague there. My first and current mower project is a craftsman lt4000. Got it for free and my brother gave me a nice Koehler to slap in there to replace the junk oil squirter that was in it. I've done a few things already but the steering in it is terrible so it's pretty squirrely at anything over 15mph. She goes faster but I'm not trying to eat pavement before I get the brakes and steering right. I will try to get a few pics up if I can but I'm going to try and hook a plow up to it so I can clear out some of this Michigan snow so the steering and speed aren't an issue right now but there are plenty others. I'm also really looking forward to getting to know as many people as I can and good luck on all your builds
Welcome, were all here to help. You definitely want a rock solid steering system if possible, stock steering is garbage at higher speeds. A good easy to make system is direct steer using a pitman arm and heim joints all around if you can afford it.
I might be able to keep the stock steering and be ok if I can hold/jam the steering rod in place. If someone has tried that I would like to know how good it works and if it doesn't I have a parts rer I might be able to rob some useable steering parts from. As far as spending a lot on this build, I most likely won't cuz I'm a cheapasauras and I'm only $40 in it including a new belt
