I have a john deere 175 it has a reversed transmission in so whenever I try to put in a forward gear it goes backwards vise versa bu does anybody know how to fix this and another thing is it safe for me to run a bike brake to the carb without the governor? Thanks

I personally wouldn't run a bike brake if it were to the carb without a governor. I feel like they are cheesy and i don't like how they push down instead of forward like the clutch/brake pedal. I always make custom gas pedals for all my tractors. But, i guess that's all personal preference.

And with the trans-axle. I guess at some point someone had it apart and put the gear-sets in the wrong way. You will probably have to tear the tranny out and fix it.

I wouldn't doubt the tranny is put together wrong. I did that to both my 930 and my 820. And both of them were re installed before I found out they were backwards. That's also why you spin you input shaft a few times and check all the gears before you put it back in the tractor.

i agree with Lmm the bike brake handles are cheesy, and they don't seem like they will last long as a real gas pedal made out of 3/16th thick steel. also id leave the governor on just so you don't blow up your engine
