yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170712
i tested it and i dont regret the swap at all ! i have to swap the front pulley again i want a little more speed and now i dont have to worry about having enough power..

i also noticed a crack in my transaxle.. i patched it with tape and filled it back up for now. i need to buil myself a new trans anyways.
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170710

the plumbing pipe exhaust ie very temporary (and ugly) and it will get remplaced with a 2to1 out the back style exhaust when i get some time to work on it again.

- swap in the opposed twin DONE
-wire up the engine, dual diode setup DONE but redoing it with proper connectors
-make up an exhaust, 2 to 1, with mufller
-relocate gas tank DONE but have to figure out how to get more gas onboard, bigger tank where ?
-battery boost system, anderson plug ?
-front bumper W front towhooks
-make the hood fit around the engine..
-headlights, nilights dual flood..
-check tranny, making sone nasty noises (almost cant hear the engine over the whining) maybe build another doc locked 800. ya........ gonna do that soon..
-add a 3rd battery ?
-buy and mount new rear tires
-read mud flaps
-front fenders
-swap an even bigger engine pulley
-belly pan, keep the sticks out of my belt..

Measure 3 or 4 times before cutting the hood. yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 1098998679

If you leave some extra material where it is getting cut out, say you need to remove 2in to make it fit, leave like 1/2in then bend it out so it kind flares around the engine tin work. I think that would look pretty shnazzy.

I thought about doing that with the craftsman hood I have, but it has too many angles to deal with... too much work for me, but ti looks like maybe you could pull it off??

Rip trans lol. Like Beal said, measure a sh*t ton or you'll regret it. Or at least get the sides somewhat symmetrical.

Is that a Mudlite I see??? A pair of those would be sweet on this thing... yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 1098998679

yeah ill have to measure alot. if it comes out ugly ill just get another hood.

yeah thats a 25x11-10, not going on this thing, god the tranny wouldnt survive a minute with these, its going go to on my roper some day...

i got these tires with a free suzuki 4wd quad the other day..  lots of usefull parts !!

yesterday i took the trans out, and i found out why have a crack in my trans, the bearing that supports the gear that drives the bullgear, destroyed itself, causing the gear to rub against the case and eat its way trough.

yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170714
glitter goo ! probably parts of the case and the bearing, no visible wear on the gears.
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170713
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170715

this is the new trans, still a 800series but with a better casing, this one has enclosed ends for more of the shafts, so its better suited for an oil lube conversion..

wellllll.... all of the 800series transaxle i have are bad. they all grenaded the output pinion needle bearings.. so, for now i just shoved a brass bushing in there. lets hope for the best, but i remember that when i doc locked my trans it had that slop, so if it lasts another 5 months ill be happy.

new traanny, nastyness. i reused my clean gears and cleaned up the case halves.
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170719
yeah there should be needle bearings between that shaft en the gear..
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170717
all cleaned up, ready to be put back in the tractor.
yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 20170718

i am getting a mst205 to remplace this trans. going to have to doc lock it, i give up on the 800s, they are beefier on paper but in reality i keep finding broken ones..

And the more speed the better afro

yeah i dunno i really like the look of the stack, it would be shorter than in the pic tho.

and yeah eventually i want to make some axle supports but before that ill reinforce the frame so its no a priority..

Yes stacks can be a skewering hazard, yard - The 18hp Yard-Man Trailmower - Page 6 1098998679 but you also have the exhaust fumes in your face. I think that would get old pretty quick?

So duals is always good... oppys need duals... lol!

yeah donno, i never flipped this tractor and i do pretty crazy crapp with it.. the only tractor i flipped is my electric one because the front end is really light..
and no right now i have the exhaust almost where it would be if i had a stack and i cant really smell the fumes.. plus ill be aiming the pipe away from me, but im not sure i might lay it on its side like doc had on mule 2, or like fearless has on the sears. originally i wanted it to go under the footboards and out the back but i dont have enough space to stick a pipe between the tires and the frame.

HA, I didn't realize that was you over in the Garage. Careful with those ruts! @RichieRichOverdrive and @AllisKidD21 broke steering too.

Wonder if you can upgrade that to a heim?

Or you could use the joints off of old automotive sway bar links! Haha, that works pretty well.

But heim joints would probably be easier hahaha.
