A few weeks ago I got a mower from my friend whose neighbors were evicted. I only got the mower at the end of the Summer, and didn't even hear of ATLTF until a few weeks ago, so I was unable to enter the build off. But either way here is the thread I'll be posting Kittybomber updates on. The name is from the DAF P-40 squads and eventually I'll paint it in a similar fashion. Anyway dropped the Peerless Tecumseh Transaxle out and started on the updated wiring and removing the safety switches. There honestly was so much wiring I was able to re-do the entire system without buying anything but the buttons, lol!

From my experience the single Inteks are junk. My V-twin works great though.
Probably an MST, mower looks to be about the time the MST was the standard.

Thanks a lot, still getting used to the layout.

Yes it is! You guys always seem to know everything about everything. I just found out today it's a 2005, so I can start looking for a manual for it.

And indeed as MatthewD said, it is a MST206 with 6 gears.

Hey Cheers man! Could you do me a favor and take a pic of the brake assembly on the trans, I'm trying to assemble one for an MST 205.

Yup, here you are! Just ask if you need a different view. As you can see, they're pretty rusty. I might have to get new brakes I can't clean these up.

Also, quick update. Went to Tractor Supply Co. and picked a new 5/8 4 inch pulley! The next step is to weld up the transaxle and see if I can move the 9 inch pulley to the front. Wiring is basically done as you can see. (Quick question? Is the solenoid facing the right way?) Also I personally like the Murray hood more, so I'll have to see I can mount that on the Craftsman.

Solenoid looks fine. As long as the right cables are hooked to the right terminals and it has a good ground, it should work alright.

Yup, just posted a question on the alternator, and then I'll clean everything up. Plus, I don't plan on mudding so if the solenoid is submerged the mower is probably done for. And I'll finally learn how to weld next weekend so the transaxle won't have to sit any longer. Fun times!

Nice. I learned to weld a few years ago, pretty useful skill for mower modding.

Looks like you have a slightly newer version of my rig. Might want to take a look at this video for a few ideas.

Finally an update! We got it back up and running and got a short clip on the maiden voyage. I will give a more in depth update later on sometime, and thank you to Maine Mud Mower for a great reference video. On the short road we were able to hit 30 MPH or 48 for the metric folks!
Oh and the stall at the end was a wheelie attempt in 6th gear. No worries!

Yeah the Briggs does sound pretty good, you can barely hear anything though! But yes I was going to do the sharkface camo still, but it might have to wait. My friend and I took it for a spin and tried to drift it at stock height and well, you can guess how that turned out. It tipped and ended ramping off the rocks and landing on the hood, bending the frame. So now the steering rod rubs the pulley as well, and might as well convert it to direct steering as well. But then it will be making the downward dog pose, so I have to add a jackshaft and lower the transaxle. Oh and stopping would be nice so brakes moved up the priority list, as well as a gas pedal because why not at this point? Anyways the video of the crash will be up tomorrow, as well as some pictures of the clutch, pulleys, and everything else.

I finally got the video up!
The crash starts out at the 7:55 mark so if you want to see the rest of the footage just skip back to the beginning. Also while fixing the bent frame I used my new favorite phrase, "I need to finesse it in there; hand me the hammer and blowtorch." Anyways onto the build, below you can see the double pulley clutch and linkage that I welded up. Before it only had about an inch of movement and would still move in gear, so today we notched the frame to get a little more swing action. Now it doesn't ram into the side of the frame anymore.
The 9 inch pulley welded to the pre-existing location.
The clutch system. The linkage. And a shot of the under belly after it flipped over. Next on the list is brakes and fully finishing the wiring, with lights and everything!
