Got another offer to get a mower. It's a Murray 17.5 hp (so I think it has an oppy) 42 inch deck. Hopefully it's a gt or it has an mst in it.

So I've been brainstorming ideas for my next build, a Westwood S1200. I entered it into the 2016 Build Off but never finished it. I'm now thinking of building it into an RER rally machine with monolink front suspension (which I attempted before) and a locked Peerless 801/832 hybrid trans and a ungoverned maybe ported/polished flathead 12hp Briggs. Probably gear it for 20-30mph. I'd like to hear you're opinion on this, I need some more ideas

I love RERS. there aren't used much and have good frames generally and are easy to work on .

@MatthewD  Why convert it to rear engine?   I like the idea of having a utility machine and a rally machine in your lineup.

Dang. Thats a problem . Now i need a new puller.Well I found out why the timing was screwed up. The key way either broke or it fell out when I put the flywheel in.

Thanks Biggas, RERs don't have hoods or anything to obstruct the engine.

@Crazy_Carl I thought an RER would be something different, you don't see many RER builds and it would make it simpler to do the steering etc. Just for something unique I guess.

I just wanna note that those pullers usually wont do it on their own. You usually gotta have em a good whack with a hammer to break the taper.

Agreed, either a good hit on the end of the crank with a punch and hammer or a crack on the flywheel with a dead blow hammer is a good idea first. Sometimes you can remove them just by doing that a few times, no need for a puller.

Yeah, a lot of the time I hold the engine with the flywheel on the end on the bench, with the nut or bolt threaded in a few turns, and give it a good whack. Usually gets em.

@AllisKidD21  That low profile hood scoop on the jake looks really cool.

Did you guys ever pulley swap the Jake? I can't remember if you guys did lol

It has a mildy larger engine pulley, nothing too crazy.

Also yeah Carl, that hoop scoop is a real nice touch, haha.
