Picked up a late 70s cub 1211 12hp kohler had the engine rebuilt and guy put conecting rod in backwards. So now i will rebuild it anm thinking of doing a restoration or a puller. What do you guys think

Someone put the con rod in backwards? Yikes, with those engines the rod could seize to the crank if you do that.

Looks like a pretty neat tractor though, not sure how many pullers use the hydrostatic transaxle but it might be okay.

I would fix it up and use it as a workhorse tractor.  I've heard these hydros are pretty quick.

Yeah they are great work tractors my 1811 is faster than my other tractor with a pulley swap. Just the hydros use allot of power from the engine to run & that is why people don't really pull with them. A cub 1211 is like a 1988...

Kohlers seem to break their con rods frequently even when they are in right, I've had one, and seen about 4 others.

Nice build, those old hydros are tough I've heard.
