| Hello everyone! I'm obviously new here. I have an opportunity to buy a tractor like the one in the pic. But it isnt a GT. It does have the hi and low range and its also a 4 speed. I have model number pic in there also. Any help on if these are worth making into a mud/trail mower would be greatly appreciated!! | |

| Welcome to the forum! Personally I don’t consider the newer Craftsman GTs to be the worlds best or worst tractors (can’t hold a candle to a 112 John Deere IMHO but as long as you aren’t plowing or or dragging obnoxiously heavy things around you shouldn’t have too many problems, they are well built as far as newer machines go. As a mud mower I think they are quite good, I would pull the trigger on it as long as the price is reasonable. Only real downside to these is that the center of mass is a bit higher than a regular lawn tractor but not by much. @AllisKidD21 built a utility GT6000 craftsman, he seems to have had good luck with it. Any questions just ask and I will ponder as needed.
