Number one, yes, all you need to do is pull that bolt, and pull the bottom half of the counterweight off and you’ll have all the room you need.

As far as welding it, I don’t know I would trust that without knowing EXACTLY where that plate is supposed to sit on the rod. Seems a little risky. If you get it slightly off, then all your linkages on the outside will be working incorrectly as well as spring tension, etc.

If you would like, I can pull one of my spares and ship it to you.

Tack weld was successful.  It's solid again.  I had PLENTY of room without teardown any further.  Should I be off from stock location (I don't think I am) that should be fine.  All the adjustment is on the outside arm that connects to the carb anyways.  Now I just need a new gasket and carb and hopefully it runs well.  Both should be here tomorrow.  I have a spare bolt to replace the broken one.

Awesome! You should love that motor. They’re like an American straight 6 engine…. You just can’t kill em.

As far as that Vtwin goes, I just read what you posted under Bowsers thread. Check the oil again and make sure it’s not overfull. That’s exactly what the MM did after it went under the water. It was wayyy overfull with water and would dump it in the carb every couple minutes.

So...  Taking place up on the soap box.

SO, I walked out to the garage a little bit ago, smelled something hot and maybe gassy.  So, these newer engines as we all know have that crazy fuel shutoff solenoid.  Long story short, I accidentally left the key on.  Shocked it hasn't blown the fuse.  I reached down and when I touched the carb, it burned my hand.  The solenoid had gotten hotter and hotter.  I'd say it was in the 150+ degree range.  I figure at some point this thing would have caught fire.  Makes me rethink all those newer mowers that have randomly caught fire.  I figure due to leaves, grass, or leaking gas on the muffler.  This has made me think twice.  Needless to say, the solenoid has been snipped and unplugged.  I knew I liked those older engines.

OK, venting done.  Stepping off the soap box.

New soapbox...

So, sometimes you work hard to get things "dialed-in", so everyone has a good experience and then it's no-show or silence from there.

Nothing particular, but a frustration.

So guys, I have 3 Widebody mud mowers and they all have the stock plastic spindle bushings. For 2 years now I have tried to find the bronze/brass/steel bushings that Mighty and some other Widebody builds from before 2018 have in them. I cannot find them anywhere at all. They seem non-existent. Can anyone help me out here? Dimensions? Links? Anything? I really do need these things badly.

I have the same problem with The Warhorse but my solution is DOM (mechanical) tubing that I'll weld in as a sleeve with a grease fitting added. I feel it will be stronger and last longer than anything else.

The OEM part is: OEM 92527MA Murray Axle Bushing Size: ID 3/4", OD 7/8", Height 11/16", Flange OD 1-1/8

I found ID 3/4", OD 7/8", Height 1"  Flange OD 1-1/8 Bronze bushings at Tractor Supply.  I have found them at Lowes and Atwoods in the past as well.  Only issue I found, if not worn too much, I had to lightly sand the 7/8 a little bit.  Otherwise, if really worn, it will just drop in.  May need to take up some slop.

Link to what I have been using.
Hillman Bronze Flange Bearing, 3/4 in. Inner Dia. x 7/8 in. Outer Dia. x 1-1/8 in. Length, 882996 at Tractor Supply Co.

I just noticed my buddy Jace (@atractorkid7) made a video of the foot throttle we made for his Suburban 12, here it is!

PostSubject: Re: OFF-Topic Anything 2022   OFF-Topic Anything 2022 - Page 19 Icon_minitimeAugust 11th 2022, 6:57 pm

I took my Honda Z50 to the trails to do some scouting, I was sure there was more to the single track trail Jace and I had been on but we had been out for awhile anyways so we took the logging road out to the main trail. I ended up starting where he and I had left off and it didn't take me too long to find the other side of it, start clearing stuff out of the way and start following it. Now, technically this trail is closed (as I learned today) and probably has been for a long time so there's alot of stuff on the trails and several trees across it too, not to mention the several logging areas/roads that make it difficult to get through and find the other side but I got alot done, covered alot of ground, and made a couple bypasses to get around some nasty stuff. Here's a map showing the trail(s):

Red - closed trails.
Green - main, double wide trails

OFF-Topic Anything 2022 - Page 19 Scree122

As you see I did some labeling on the map, now for an explanation. The section from the main trail to 1 I explored and it's pretty easy going aside from some raspberry bushes and a couple of downed trees that need to be moved, that section all the way up to the "Tractor Trap" (Just before 2) is a easy to moderate ride and great for people new to the sport to get familiar with their machines. The "Tractor Trap" is pretty extreme and the sand hill climb after is also difficult but I found a nice rest area at 2 just at the start of the next section of trail that will be a great pit stop. From 2 to 3 is moderate to intermediate with a couple of hills to climb and descend plus another section of logging road that is going to need a little bit of finessing to make more passable, there's another good rest stop area just beyond that at the start of the next section. By the time you get to 3 it's an absolute logging disaster and completely impossible to get through so I made and marked (with orange ribbon) another bypass that gets us to the end of what I could find of the trail which happens to be close to a main trail.

When I got home I looked up the trail map because I knew there had to be more single track beyond it and I was right! There's quite a bit more actually which is hopefully good news, that depends on how good or bad it is! Lol. I figure that once the trail was clear and if you ride from the main all the way to 3 with a couple of 10-15 minute breaks you're probably looking at 2.5-3 hours of riding so that's awesome right!?

I'm looking forward to getting back out there with tractors and gear to ride and get the trails more rideable!

OFF-Topic Anything 2022 - Page 19 Snapch12

Got another craftsman to build came with snowerblower deck front bumper and weights for 75 bucks. Has 18hp oppy and peerless 820 6 speed that I can't wait to lock but doing research on the best way to do it since I don't want to mess it up at all. All I did was clean out the gas tank from old gas, replace part of the line put a battery in it, lubed the starter, cleaned air filter, add half a quart of oil and front tires she runs perfect belt was even good
