Iam a lawnmower mechanic and recently got a mower from work that I would like to build into an off-road mower.
So far I have been mostly doing minor fixes and cosmetics. I will keep it somewhat stock looking if possible.
As far as upgrades I have so far put some turf 22s in the rear and have some 18 inch wheels ready for the front aswell. Before I tackle the front I would like to weld some new spindles on however.
As far as the gear goes I have picked up a peerless 915 and I will need some help to get that going so that's the main reason I joined here.

Welcome to the forum, looks like that will be a fun project once you get the hydrostatic transaxle out and put that 915 in, little bit of advice turf tires suck in the mud

Iam in Israel.. luckily we don't have any mud in the summer here.
Moved here a few years ago and unlike other countries you can't buy a lot of tire sizes due to regulations. Here you are not allowed to have any other size on your vehicle than what is factory so nobody will import mud tires in these sizes since atv tires are regulated aswell.
I might adjust the thread a little and make knobby tires out of them at some point

Welcome to the ATLTF! There's some knarly lawn/garden tractor tires available, maybe that's a loophole you can use to get better tires?

Wow, I don’t think we’ve ever had a member from Israel before. That’s a very interesting tractor you got there. It’s a mix between what appears to be a snapper frame and dash and a murray hood and body. And it all looks factory. I don’t think we have those in the US. Closest we have is a Murray Widebody and it’s not a popular version of the Widebody.
That’s what we get in the US. What type of engine is that gigantic hood hiding?

Well you are correct, it is made by Murray but is actually a simplicity regent rebranded as a snapper using both simplicity and snapper parts It does make for an extremely good looking mower and I always loved these even though they aren't as common here anymore nowadays. It has truly been my favourite since I started working on snapper mowers
It is still missing the grill and headlight lens but I ordered those and they'll be here in about 2 weeks
It's only hiding a 31 ohv however but there's plenty of space under the hood to play with. Even enough to relocate a motorcycle battery between the engine and the steering shaft

Terrain really depends on the season but around the house now we have dry dirt but if I would drive around 15 minutes I would run into sand dunes and beach aswell. In the winter it's the thickest clay youve ever seen though, Iam from Holland originally and I thought I saw it all untill now

Interesting. That gas tank mounting separate from steering tower appears to be much better than the murray one that is attached to the steering tower that would break if you tweaked it.
