I paid 20$ for a Cub cadet cc30h with a 382cc chinese engine (drain plug broke and dumped all the oil out and seized) what are y'all's thoughts should I A. Yank the seized engine and sell the rest for 20$ B. Use the no time I have to fix the engine and make not enough money off of it for it to be worth it.
Option number B. No question about it.

Turbos don’t need an intercooler though. Superchargers use them just the same as turbo setups do anyway.
I would make an EFI setup before i went boosted though
Ya know, that predator 301 you’re building for the Sears would probably be at least sorta compatible with the EFI out of one of those ryobi generators- think it’s TBI but I may be mistaken.

@RichieRichOverdrive I figured a turbo charger would need an intercooler because it's using the hot gases from the exhaust and a supercharger wouldn't because it would be pulling in fresh cold air

This is probably part of it but pretty Rich is spot on, think about how a diesel works, when you compress air it gets hot, so if you were running fairly low boost you shouldn't need the intercooler.

Found a Murray on Facebook Marketplace I want to buy I'm thinking about building it into a race mower does anybody know what type of trans this mower has?
MST 206 would be my guess. I found a sheet that says Peerless but not the verion. Possibly a 920 or 930... I don't know much about them.
I went by and picked it up today and you were right it has an mst-206 also picked up four other tractors that were pretty cool one being a gt6000 like Marshall

Heres a new hot rod I picked up for a mere 1700$ and got 200$ in the new set of rims and 100$ in the grille Has a 350 an sm465 4x4 and posi rear end it really lays down the rubber i tell ya
Aight, first thing just here at a glance. 1, ecoboosts definitely DO use intercoolers. 2, richie is correct that intercoolers are common on supercharged setups as well.
So air temperature does rise when compressed, but also from the friction inside of a supercharger and exhaust gases in the case of a turbo. Roots blowers are incredibly inefficient. Why? Because they have a lot of drag. Drag makes friction. Friction makes heat. Heat means lower air density which makes less power.
Intercoolers make more power in certain applications, or at least more consistent power because the air is usually denser. But drag cars typically don't use them. At a certain point, intercoolers cause enough of a bottleneck that reduces flow enough to outweigh the gains from the denser air.
Intercoolers for longer runtimes, street driven stuff, etc. Non-intercooled for the hardcore racecar stuff lol.
At this point, I'm rambling. But I've got a 37 hp efi vanguard that I plan on doing a non-intercooled turbo setup on eventually.

Man o man... talk about a weekend. Rush rush and very busy. Half way done and it's already the end of monday. still more tomorrow then.... just maybe I'll be back online to my normal self. Just fyi... Friday I was home. Saturday I was in Norwalk, OH, Then I just got back home 20 minutes ago. Driving... phew... On top of that, got a new roof on the house, still need the gutters replaced and our back porch cover. Then on top of that, I was fielding questions friday and need to attend a meeting tomorrow on my scheduled time off! The time will de deducted from my time off. Getting some of that back. Yay.
@CraftsmanQuad19 I didn't know a EcoBoost had an intercooler in all fairness I don't know a lot about cars LOL. I went and I got under my mom's truck I'm guessing this is the intercooler I traced it back to the turbo

Yessir, the second pic is the intercooler. The arrow in your first pic is pointing to the air inlet tube, it goes from the air filter to the turbo.
