One of those situations has arisen. A tractor with some desired parts has shown up on marketplace. Like I need another tractor in the yard. Wrong hood, but my research says this should be one of those green Murray Ultras... I would have to retire some tractors to take this on.
Yep, 820 and a 20hp pressure lube oppy in one tractor.

Then the weight of the year hit me along with some seasonal depression and now I am full abort for tomorrow. Just not feeling it or tractors at the moment.
I hope you guys have a good weekend.

Thanks Rich... I get like 2 weeks off at the end of the year paid, so Maybe I will get over the funk and weather depending, we can get out to our favorite spot just less than an hr away. Unfortunately we need a permit there and ours expired end of August, so I need to make a trip out to get a couple new ones.

I'll try to keep the rambling to a minimum, but suffice it to say everything I'm about to talk about is aiming me at the inevitable - getting back into the hobby... waist deep. (wanted to say something else... )
I've stopped collecting machines after 38 years. I haven't rid myself of any yet, and most are in BAD shape... but I still have enough to fill a U-Haul... a big boy at that, not the mom and pop trailers. I had many discussions with one of my coworkers at the forest service about mud mowers - he'd tool around his yard on a hydro JD to amuse himself and chase cows in his field. He kept saying he wanted an atv to get into the forest trails behind his home... enter the slogan of ATLTF, coming out of my mouth.
Got him interested in it, gave him tons of pointers, 'pro-tips' and who to watch on youtube for tech stuff. Doubt he'll ever come here, but who knows. Fast forward some time, and I was laid off, came home to my driveway and front yard full of tractors, dragging the 'last' one home with me. Told my wife "you know, I think I'm done collecting". She then asked what I'd do with what I have and I really had to give it some thought... but honestly, I MISS doing this whole mud mower/rally/crawler stuff on tractors, and I have enough spare parts to last tens of years, possibly the rest of my life, outside of batteries and tires, etc.
The point being, I gave up on all this, kept grabbing more parts machines out of habit but never did anything with them. They're taking up far too much space as they are, and I am paring down to the 5 I always envisioned keeping. 1 worker/tow pig, 1 jack-of-all-trades, and 3 rallys of different configurations. Whatever, right? Well... time and life got in the way far too much for my liking, and twice or 3 times now in the past couple years project started, stalled, and were set aside because of post-secondary education, work, family troubles... and somehow, I kept thinking of coming back.
Thanks to that wonderful 15000 jobs being cut by the forest service at the end of October of which I was part of, and the approaching graduation after 5 years of college in natural resources... I finally have a little time. No money, but plenty of time.
So, I decided to get back to my roots in this - junk built masterpieces (or so I think lol) and a lot of persona-driven rants (though this time... just an act) to have a little fun while I wait on the next step in my life, and as soon as the first new one is done... rides!
I've waited a long, long time for this...
Daniel.

Guess we all have been on a roller coaster for a while. We’d love to watch your projects and share pointers. Hope things work out in the jobs corner as well!

Thank you my friend, life has been really weird lately - that much is certain. I've got a public safety service test tomorrow, then I should be updating with the plans for the first build within the next 24 hours. Right now though, time for munchies and hanging out with the wife

Ok guys… I’m getting this tractor tomorrow! It will be my 2025 build tractor! Sacrifices will be made to build it.

Anyone getting notification emails from the site? I haven't gotten one in quite some time. I even sent out a newsletter about the vote and I haven't got that either. Hmmm.
EDIT: Going to try my non ATLTF email address.
