@ranch king pro 08 No I have not, maybe I should though when this gets to the point I can take a cutting. These take months to take root and grow really slowly, it's about 4 years old now and not even a foot tall. Can't remember the actual name but it's known as a rubber plant because the leaves are really rubbery.
@MightyRaze 4" eh...? Last week we got that every couple hours for a total of 3 feet! I had to clear my tarp sheds twice a day so they wouldn't collapse! Lol.
Not sure if you guys have heard about this new fancy virus that originated in Africa awhile back and has now made it to China.... good grief please not again!

Just over 6 inches it seems and still snowing pretty heavy.
Does anyone else get logged out of the site if they do anything else on their phone or close the screen for a minute? So annoying! Lol
Not sure what happened with the host. Maybe a security thing, but If I log into another computer/phone/tablet/browser than the last one I logged into, the site logs me out of everything, and I have to log back in. This has happened to me for a few years now. Things seem to be getting a little buggy lately on the host side of things.
Thought I would show you guys my tool haul! Vintage Tool edition! First up is a Torqueometer! An old dial torque wrench. I do not own a torque wrench of any type so this will be great! I also I got a Sears Click style one as well. I also found this old IH wheel bearing race! In its packaging even! D I found this sweet complete SK tools 1/4 socket set! It came with wrenches, tiny sockets, rachet which is a very high quality one at that, and a mini breaker bar! Plus some other basic tools I have been needing but these are some cool ones!

@Slipperz I know a old guy who keeps one of those Torqueometers under his truck seat he said it's smaller than a ball bat but not as illegal as a baton
Actually come to think of it, i do have a couple 999cc generac Vtwins i could just throw one on the lawn ranger..they’re good to at least 35hp with just a slide carb
I gotta ask where you find stuff like that? That would be a beast in a workhorse tractor or literally anything! I did some looking into Generac engines. They are pretty cool I saw the OHVI which from what I can tell are pressure lubed version of the other engines like 420's and others! That is super cool!

The 999s came in propane standby generators, there was a batch of bad control boards a while back and a sh*t ton of them got warrantied. 992s came in some dixie choppers maybe? 816s were also in standby generators but the oil pickup bolt usually loosened up on those and the engine shut off for low oil pressure and those units got warrantied too. So all the warrantied units either are still sitting in a shop somewhere or were sold or scrapped. Not hard to come by, especially if you have friends that work on generators.
A 999 is really something that you have to experience to understand. They are simply earth shaking engines that have no business being on a lawn mower. Then again, that power doesn’t mean much if you don’t know how to use it. I mean, my smokey old oppy did beat three 999cc tractors at TTC.
There’s also a 530 twin and maybe one or two others scattered in there that i dont remember. If i ever get my hands on a 530 it’s gonna go in a sears custom because why not
The engine I put on my custom is a generac 407cc OHVI pressure lube single. Went with that over a predator 420 because generac seems to package well for their displacement, I like pressure lube, and I like being different. It came off your typical general purpose generator.
They also have a 460cc OHVI single that George Irwin spoke highly about. That’s the guy that converted his 999 to efi
That is super cool. That explains why in my CVT thread you mentioned them. I knew what they were but I just thought they were a normal style clone/ industrial engine like that. Knowing that they are pressure lubed is super cool! I'll will have to keep my eye out for one!

George Irwin is a fellow Michigan mower guy, though I’m unsure if he’s on here. You can probably find him on Facebook. He’s my main source of info for Generac questions, and he’s closer to you than me.
He has told me to look for local generac dealers. They will sell whole warranty units generally. How much they want is kind of up to the dealer, but evidently the genny heads/control boards are common failures and will total the whole unit, so there’s plenty of low hour 999’s around. The major drawback to pretty much all of them is they use the generator head to charge the 12v starter battery, so there’s no stator behind the flywheel, and no magnets in the flywheel to even make a stator work. Would have to find a Dixie chopper 992 and pull the flywheel and stater off and use that, OR just run a small automotive self regulating alternator on a second belt.
Maybe we all get together for a Michigan ride this summer, y’all ain’t that far north
That's great to know CQ! I don't think running a car alternator would be that bunch of a hassle besides it just being another thing to mount up. It would be cool to come to a ride with a bunch of other tractor guys! For the most part I am the only guy where I am that off road tractors. The rest of them moved to ATV's. We still off road all the time but not in very often tractors any more I have taken mine when my ultra reliable 2 stroke dies on me again lol!
