tip mower on its side to figure out pulley setups

Is it okay as long as I tip it to the oil fill side and keep the carb side in the up position? I will remove the gas tank first. I need to get my idler pulleys figured out to tension the belt.

yeah, just make sure the dipstick is tight. and when you set it back down, let it sit for about a half hour to let the oil drain back into the sump

I always stand mine up on the back. Run the tank below half and stand it uo in my situation. That or i hoist mine 5ft in the air. And sit under it.
