Well it seems I bent my front end well making a video today. Not bad enough to make it unusable but enough to reinforce my need to come up with a stronger front end Idea. Video to come did a few hill test on hills my stock tractors are unable to climb. The new locker is great.
I think im going to work on a 4 link front end with coil overs. One of the guys on Maine mud mower facebook group has a mower with a 2 link and pan hard bar. He said it works great but i don't trust pan-hard bars due to automotive experience.
Subject: Re: Been there done that!! February 2nd 2013, 12:25 pm
4 Link is the way to go.
I got 2 other tractors that Im building and one of them has front and rear four link. (I haven't started a build on it yet, I wanted to get it a roller before I did any posting on it but a few weeks ago i ran into an issue with the transaxles so it may be awhile till I get that one figured out.)

I wouldn't mind trying a Kevlar when I redo my pulley system. Wish I could find some more deep mud like you got down in our trails

did the locker hold?
Funny you should ask that, now I'm curious of the same - you see - that very instance is why I argue against locking the axles... but I am wondering what the total damage is now lol

I've never heard of using wax before... what does it do?
We usually just use 2 people, one lifting the trans by the pulley, and the other tapping with a punch like you did at the end. We have had some extra stubborn ones that required heat though.
