lifted Murray

this is my first mower, and it has taught me a lot about mechanical things, and is about to teach me more. this will be for pulling and mudding, and ridding in general. it will be lifted about 10" and will be powered by a 17 hp tecumsea.

Nice! Wide body's have some of the easiest frames or bases to work with when modding, should be in your favor!

thanks for the compliment! the only problem I've had is the dashes are made of cheep steel, and they like to break. that and you have to lay in the dirt to work on it...... but if it is lifted it should be better.

I like the idea of lifting it but 10" is a bit too much in my honest opinion. maby a 6" would be better.

I know, but with the suspention and 6" taller tires I figured it would be close to that.

thanks for the compliment redzz02! do you still have the craftsman with suspention on the front? the green one? that is what truely inspired me to do this.

in this build I plan on using:
a peerless 700
230 suzuki rear axle
24" snow tires on the front
26" ags on the back
using a chinese atv for parts for beaks, shocks, and tubing

(I've spent over $700 on parts for this quad and it still is a loong way from finished)

so are you building a Quad or a tractor?

well, here is a little update. got the swing arm off of the quad today, and it fits in the frame almost perfectly. i will try to get pics soon.

do you guys think these are a good canidate for a 700? i know where there two of these by my grandpa's house......

could someone move this to my other thread? I'm dropping out of the contest, too much to do and I can't get the pats I need, and the frame does not have enough room for the 700.

not going to make the suspention oh well. got the clutch back in and "fixed" the stock pulley mount





had to do that because I didn't have a a pulley that would fit on it, but i had a John Deere pulley that was the right od but the wrong id.



now to take the tranny out of the MTD and figure out how to make hubs and buy a 5" pulley for the back.

got it repainted, made a pulley, need a belt. If it stops raining I will try to get pics.

just need a belt... and finish my rims
