Subject: Richie's lifted 4x6 IH cub 782 GT "mini deuce" Mon Jan 20, 2014 8:04 pm
well guys, ive been thinkin for a couple years to do a 4x6, and now ive decided to do it, im gathering parts now and should be ready to start buildin in febuary. my base mower is a IH cub cadet 782 GT, this mower is really heavy duty. the stock frame on the mower is 6 foot, front front wheel to back wheel is just under 6 ft, im adding either 3.5 ft or 4 ft to the frame, more than likely it will be 4 ft. this will stretch the frame out to 11 ft. from my measurements and guessing, from front wheel to rear wheel when im done is going to be ~9.5-10 ft. i plan on running at least 25" tall tires, but i am trying to find a set of 27x12x12 tires that are similar to my tres on dixie, if i can then im going to run 27" tires rear. the build is getting a 8" lift so that is giving me between 20.5"-23" ground clearance. im going to be running 2 posi locked mst-206's on this build. the front tires i have already, ther will be 24x8.5x12 in atv tires. the front end i plan on doing a leaf spring suspension. the motor for this build will be a 18.5 hp briggs opposed twin, im going to run a 1:1:1 ratio. now instead of doing like most people who have built 4x6's ad done a flat bed, im building a 42"wx60"Lx18"H bed for this bad boy. im also planning on a removeable roof and tinted plexiglass windshield. the bed is going to be framed out of 1" square tube and be covered in 16ga steel. its getting a small sound system, which will all be water proof.im also mounting my winch on this thing, this will be my ultimate mower, i plan on using this thing for mudding, trail-riding, yard-work, recovery/repair.

gone be an expensive build, the metal for the lift is ~ $45 bucks, and then the parts in need for the drive line are another $40, im going to get the lift built and tested, then build the bed, the bed is going to take ~$120

Really wow, can't you borrow Redline's junkyard.
yea richie you can find your lift, axles, and rims for probably $60. lol

This oughta be an interesting build! Mind you, at 10 feet long- your turning radius is probably gonna suck.
yea the turning radius is the only major downfall i see on this, but the trails at slopoke have people taking those little jap. trucks that are 4x4 on em so this will be fine

ok guys, im workin saturday to get some cash for metal, and them stickers, my question is this, can yall think of anything that would be functional and productive to add to this build?
what are you using for a floor richie? cause if you used diamond plate you could get rid of the 2nd and 4th X-member.
ima talk to my old shop teacher, he had someone donate a full 4'x8' sheet of 1/4" diamond plate last year ill see if i can get it, or buy it cause i would love diamond plate floor
