Ok so I got one of those Montgomery wards where the battery go's under the dash area and is the size on a motorcycle/atv battery and that's for the stock 11hp b&s I'm going to be putting a 18hp single kohler ohv on it and I'm not sure if the smaller battery would be able to start it ? As I don't have room for a normal size battery.

Do you have pics?

On my craftsman, the battery is in the same place.

It looked like there was barely room for the small battery.

But I built a bigger battery tray. Bolted it in. And was surprised to find that even a LARGE deep cycle battery from Costco, fits in there like a charm!

Ok prob resolved the lawn garden battery bearly fit got me a box and hold down built for it I just got to get some protective covers for the terminals.
