picked up a mower today for $70 i'm going to make it a mudding/racing mower it has a hydro that i plan on swapping to a gear drive. the hydro doesn't work anyway. it has a 15 hp briggs runs but the carb floods itself a lot. i know this sounds crazy but i want it to do between 40-45 mph

and yes the tires are being held on by vicegrips the c clips were missing

Looks like a solid idea! You better build a beefy front axle and steering for that amount of speed!

http://southjersey.craigslist.org/grd/4597229911.html Would the carb and some of the other parts from this engine fit on my 15 hp ohv engine because i wanted to buy it as a spare parts engine. this ones a 92 and my engine is a 94 so i wouldn't think the carb and other parts would be that much different. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I had one of those craftmans with that body I think. More or less. It might be early in the project, but i've got to ask about my favorite part. What are you thinking on the exhaust?

Hhmm for the exhaust i might have it come straight out under the tractor and split off into two exhausts and have them end right under the foot rests so it will keep them out of the way and heat the foot rests a little. what would you think of that idea?

you should run the exhaust right out the back just like you say but put the as close to the floor boards as possible it will warm your feet and if snow gets on them it will melt and if it comes out the back it will also warm your tranny

Hood scoop or something? That flat hood looks like a good spot for something. Maybe leave the hood intact, but have some nifty stripes or graphics or something.

First, Richie tries to use a welder as an engine, and now you want to use one as an exhaust.

What is it with you guys and welders???
