| This looks like a fun build if you do anything please keep us up to date cause I love older tractors and love to see what people do to them but just one recommendation:bumper | |

| thanks guys, the original 8 hp caught fire and burned the hood so I decided to do this. it needs a bumper for the front. I love the exhaust, but my buddies think that it is too loud. it sounds like a very loud harley davidson. | |

| Yep, a very loud harley davidson that has something wrong in the carb.. LOL... i think you need to redo your exhaust as tight to the frame as possible, bennens hit his front tire, but we fixed that.

| I just got tubing to redo it today, and I scored a $20 hf winch from the store because I had gift cards and a coupon. so it is getting a strong bumper tomorrow and new exhaust. Z is sounds like a bad carb because when you heard it it had starting problems and I thought it was the carb so I was playing with the mixture. I will put the exhaust on my 6211 dozer. | |

| aww but the 6211 looks so good! and i would run the pipe as close to the frame as possible at all times for clearance and it will look more trick. | |

| The new and improved Montgomery Wards Dependable Power Plus 8 4 Speed. It is no longer 8, but 18 horse power. If I open the throttle in 5th (I added 5th gear) I do a wheel stand. Luckily I have the rear rack which keeps me from falling over, although it feels like you are straight up in the air when it goes. Anyways, I have a 2 into 1 exhaust, and I got it to idle without having to open the throttle at all. Winch is attached and ready. Now I am waiting for Zsmachines and Brennen to get here so we can go on a ride. We shouldn't have a problem getting stuck since the mud is frozen solid so it is like concrete. | |

| Do you have all the tin work removed from the engine except the shroud? I was thinking of removing most of it on an opposed twin I am going to build. I planned on extending the tin down on the lower of the two cylinders though since I saw a picture of one and there was a decent gap. I guess you haven't had any overheating issues? | |

| I have not had problems, but I have the tins if I need them. Rode it today, till the chain broke, then the belt broke. Ran it for some time though, and it works great! It has tons of power, so awesome! I will rebuild the tranny but I need the countershaft and I can't find one.(splines for reverse sprocket are stripped, and I want the two outputs so I can put on breaks.) I am thinking of getting a straight axle and getting a break disk on that. | |

| Yeah I have not seen many of these around. sears had a 8hp craftsman with the same setup. Anyways, I made a stronger tie rod that is 2x as thick as the original, since the old one bent in my hand. this is a shortened mtd rod with adjustable ends. | |

| Ya know... I think that a quad it dirtbike motor would be cool in this... You could hear it down to where 1st gear would be at like 2 mph and high would be like 45... | |
