Not too sure pic upload will work I seems complicated compared to other web sites, Anyway almost got it stripped down. Having problems getting the pulley of the gearbox though...

Pic showed up. If you use photobucket or some similar site to store photos, you can just copy from there too. Try soaking the input shaft on the trans up for a few days with penetrating oil, might help. What brand is that thing? Has a cool looking grill. Is that a factory color?

Hi Mr M
Its a Roper made in 1989 its really a shame to mess with it as its all original colour and cutting deck is good as it the original 12hp motor that is now in my westwood so trying to decide what to do with it. I have heated the pulley and left the puller on it and soaked it in WD40

Wasn't the original colour green? What engine are you going to put in her.

no original metallic red I pulled off most of the stickers and its all original.. It had its original B&S 12hp in it and as I have put that in my westwood I need another motor and not to sure weather to get a OHV B&S motor or not..

Ah right. Interesting. You could look on gumtree for a cheap engine or a scrap lawnmower with a decent engine in her. That's how I get most of my engines. I prefer flatheads tbh, much less to go wrong I suppose.
