Does anybody know a way to upgrade a Briggs and Stratton 12.5 charging system to better handle a winch. After using it for almost any amount of time it drains the battery and it won't restart if shut off.
Thanks in advance!

You could possibly do that but might have slippage issues if the belt doesn't wrap far enough around the pulley. I guess most of the time the clutch is engaged even when sitting in neutral, so that wouldn't matter too much.

or use the alt pulley as an idler in the drive belt system.
well my thinking was that mudding with trucks alternators get killed all the time so put it up high so it won't get ruined. Does anyone else have this problem with winches on their mowers?
