Bring on the pics and more video. I'm wanting to do the same thing. I wonder how close to a garden tractor you can push a lawn tractor? I want to build a blade like that and also a cherry picker type of attachment that would use a rear mounted winch also.

In the long run itd be cheeper to buy a GT or heavy duty tractor- but if you want a project....

First thing would be to strip the tractor- pick something with a c channel frame ( strongest chassis) like on murrays-or build a square tube chassis. reinforce the heck out of it, either beef up stock components or upgrade to GT stuff ( heavier front axle, heavy duty trans ) direct steer would be the best upgrade for steering- eliminates all gears in the steering rack.

Ive seen some pics of a new craftsman GT where someone bent the whole front part of the frame about 4" down pounding it into a dirt pile ( with a plow) - if some serious work is needed from any type of tractor- id reinforce the heck out of it first.

LT's can take some pretty good abuse , hauled quite a bit of weight with my MTD's, murrays and dynamarks - ive either broken the trailer or the hitch on the tractor - but not the tractor.

I dont know if I would call this a lawn tractor. The hitch and blade were made for this tractor. Perhaps it is because it does not have a HI/Lo range? What makes a garden tractor a garden tractor?

Like Dangeroustoy said, pretty much beefier everything. They have heavy duty transaxles, beefy frames, stronger frontends and steering. Also many of them run a horizontal shaft engine with the crank parallel to the frame, like on a car/truck.

You can tell differences in a GT and a LT - first off, the GT is alot bigger - when i drive mine around- it feels like a car - my GT's have 5 bolt rims on the back as well - not all GT's have the bolt on rims tho - newer ones are a the regular slotted axle. You could hook up a disc or tiller to it and plow a garden. GT's also come with larger then normal mowing decks.

Well I found a craftsman plow but they are like 200$. I found another moose 50 inch plow for a gator for like 130.. I might be mounting that thing on the front.
