Yeah those craftsman LTs are a good place to start. Now the questions are: Do you like its body style, engine, tranny? What's its condition? And what amount of "suckage" will happen to the wallet? But seriously, If you got alota parts and your pretty good with a welder, then the condition don't really matter.

Yeah briggs is the way to go. They're easy to work on, and parts are cheap. If it's basically ready to start modding from the get go, then $100 ain't bad. If it's got a 12.5 briggs, then I'm guessing it has a 6 speed tranny?
