Don’t get me wrong, I like John Deere machines. But when it comes to the light duty lawn tractors, the quality isn’t there. For instance, in order to change the hydrostatic transaxle fluid, you have to remove the entire thing. These machines are designed to last max 500 hours. Anything more and it’s lucky.

In this video, we troubleshoot and repair the hydrostatic transaxle by changing the fluid. There’s a possibility that if it was parked at a steep angle, some could have leaked out causing the machine to not propel itself forward.
