Subject: Intro from Indiana March 7th 2021, 7:23 pm
Hello, I have seen some videos online about ATLTF and decided to go out and try and build one myself. I work in metalsmithing but not necessarily in mechanics so while I'm familiar with parts of this I also have a lot of learning to do.
I have a 92/90? Craftsman LT4000. Sorry for the bad photo, its the one that I had when buying it. I have cleaned the motor enough to run and am currently welding together the front pully and keyway for a 4" to 7" pullswap.

Welcome, fellow Hoosier! That tractor looks like a rebadged murray pan frame. Good starter tractor there
@CraftsmanQuad19 Ahh so that's what the frame is called. As soon as I found the right topic area I was going to ask if someone knew the best way to get at the back pully. It almost seems like I need to make an access hatch in the back just to get to it. though I assume the other way would be to remove the transaxel to get to it.

Easiest way to get to the pulley is going to be dropping the transaxle out of it, once you’ve done it a few times it’s a pretty quick and easy process, while you have it out to swap the pulley pop open the case and weld up the spider gears, or do one of the several other methods to lock the transaxle

I assume go ahead and put in lots of red and tacky or another type of grease?

Oil is best if you’re able to seal it in. Grease tends to squish out of the teeth after a short time and find the “dead spots” in the case. OEM grease is bentonite clay if I’m not mistaken
Which part of indiana you from? I bounce between lafayette and Westfield. Diddie is northeast of Indy and budget_go kart is a bit west of Indy
You’re one of us lucky members where Haspin is just a short drive away

Thank you! If/when I open the transaxel I will probably put in more grease and a bit of gear oil since I'm not sure I trust the seals. Maybe I can try get the best of both worlds where the gear oil will thin the grease just enough but not too much.
I'm in the Indy area, a lot of people I know go to Haspin every few weeks with 4x4 quads, side by sides. I have never been since I don't have anything to go with... until now haha.
And sweet, nice to know there is a local interest in ATLT, I may go to the Hapin event happening this year if that's the case.

It’s a great time, I HIGHLY recommend it. A locker and good steering are a must
