i got a briggs 8hp flathead model 190707 it will start but then die after 45 seconds or so then wont start again till later

bad coil, or more likely, gas is very slowly feeding the carb. Pinched line, gas tank not vented, or clogged fuel filter.

Does it have an Anti Backfire Solenoid? My tractor was doing something similar because of the ABS.

just replaced coil got good spark i think i know what it is my friend thought he was helping me and jb welded a little hole in the gas cap and its a 1974 mogomeryward 8

HAHA. Take gas cap off and run it, then see how long it will run. That would do it. Smile

Yep, gas tanks need to be vented. I've had a couple get plugged.

i got it to started and run i just need to mess with the carb it ran way longer then it use to if only my battery charger would work
