| my friend has multiple mowers, and a craftsman that he liked to romp. He got a MTD with a hydro and a opposed that ive got running, sounds great. He also got this new Husqvarna with a non running (needs coil) kohler 13HP. We swapped the oppsed to this new Husqvarna. It has a hydro and he says hell get a 6 speed. just need to make shifter linkage and axle mounts and should bolt right up, its basically a lt1000. Old mower: No wireing, going to cut out the safty's. Roller now. Old engine with the engine pully ( mower deck is electric clutch selling that) Siderails bumpers and maybe exhust from trampoline tubing lol. Again its not mine so I might show up and it might change. I have no control just suggest things. | |

Definatally, the single cyl can take abuse. he has a 15.5hp on his other craftsman with a string to the governer arm and just yanks on it all the time. you can gear the lifters chatter and never skip a beat.

I had a 13hp kohler and something made the governor sticked wide open and to get it back to my house I drove it like that for over 10 minutes, I took the arm off the governor from then on, and i put a good return spring on the carb.

| Well this will sound goofy. I'd like to see this mower romping but the 13 Kohler that will go on this engine needs a coil. Is it possible to take a Briggs coil (witch we have) and measure and drill new holes in it? Would it work? | |

I don't see why it wouldn't if the fly wheel had the same magnet and bolting it up was possible.

| your axle mounts from the hydro to the 6 speed will be the same. front braces, if so equipped will be different, but not majorly so...
and that 13hp that needs a coil? (did I read that right?) have one if you need it. |
